Which was not much as I was still feeling a bit meh but...

- slept late.
- talked with my mom, complained about uni stress which for once made me feel a bit better.

- watched two documentaries, one about the Voynich manuscript that was only mildly sensational. One lady was convinced it was done by Leonardo da Vinci as a child based on... nothing, as far as I could tell. *eyeroll* But at least they admitted it didn't work in real life. Also Edward Kelley was in it! :D Even though they found he likely didn't make it either. The second documentary was about Icelandic sagas but I kind of zoned out on it. Needed more feminist critique, imho.
- Also watched the first part of The Vikings since it was on tv. It's very... movie-y visually? Seemed ok if not great, next time I might actually try to NOT do crochet while I watch...

- Talking about which, finished the matching beret for the scarf, did a bunch of leaves to add to the roses and attached them. And then I tried making a pouch for my cellphone, though it came out a bit too large. Still, I was half testing a garn and model anyway so no big loss.
- And then I cleaned my room slightly since a carpenter might visit sometime this week to look at the wall and/or attach some shelves so I needed to reduce clutter on the table and generally make things less embarrassing.

And now I might try sleeping... maybe. >_>

Yesterday I took the train to the community center, which is pretty small potatoes but after being cooped up at home for more than a week it felt very refreshing. Ended an insurance that no longer applied since I moved to Sweden, my sister fixed a bank problem and then we just looked around at the library and shops.

I bought some drawing paper and a tiny bottle nail polish and she found a Doctor Who novel of all things, in the discount bin (for only 5euros). The Clockwise Man by Justin Richards, which is about Nine and Rose in 1920s England. It's a bit weird to read in Finnish, especially when the Doctor uses Finnish slang words. Which made me wonder what sort of "northern" accent he'd have in Finnish anyway. :'D

Also, finally made a selling post for the squiddies and then right after I heard that paypal accounts can get frozen if you try to access them from another country. I don't have a lot of money there atm but I'd rather not lose it, and besides if there's any sales I might need it... I guess I'll worry about that if there's any interest. Also there was another potential problem getting the money from paypal to my normal account, but my brother promised to test it with his.

Meanwhile, while I'm here I have some manga I'd like to sell as well but... that I think I'd rather do in Finland. Not sure where to start though. Somewhere online would probably be most profitable. I'll have to look into it.

Incidentally, yarns I want to buy while I'm here:
One of these "brook"-yarns, saw some of the colours at a dollar store and though I was a bit iffy on the colour combinations they had a lovely smooth feel to them.

Also, while I was looking for them online, came across this "milkshake" series and especially the multicoloured ones seem super adorable. And they're bamboo mix! ¤A¤ (mind, need to get my hands on them to see how they feel irl)

What do you mean I don't need new yarns??? ;=A=;

Stuff that happened in last week:
Spent a lot of time working on small crochet mascots for a student flea-market at uni... sold none of them. Did sell a few other things and amassed 70kr which was a bit pathetic but... better than nothing I guess. On the plus side, while crafting I listened to companion chronicles Transit to Venus with IAN (and cute Ian/Barbara shippiness and One being his terrible tsun self. Srsly, Ian and/or Barbara should meet the current Doctor and a companion/s of choice and react to this "WITHOUT THE DOCTOR THE UNIVERSE CANNOT SURVIVE OMG"-nonsense) and Resistance with Polly. I was ok during the story and then in the discussion after Anneke Wills started talking about how when she first heard what the script would be about she got chills and felt like Troughton and Craze were with her and I tear up every time I think about it.

Also listened to Revenge of the Mara Craddle of the Snake, which was entertaining in a cracky sort of way. Got to love how Turlough is so... not-very-brave and a bit selfish. x3 Also makes it cool when he does do something a bit awesome. the audio also makes it way too easy to crack ship Five and Turlough... )

Friday was one of those days where every small obstacle seemed supremely annoying, and then when I got to uni it turned out the discussion (for which I'd even read the texts unlike the last one I... also missed) was the previous day which made remembering I'd met some classmates kind of embarrassing. Who knows what they thought.

After that I got some course books from library (one is in Danish, we'll see if I understand enough) and one from a bookstore, and a couple of extras that were on discount and only cost 10kr. About Hellenistic and Pagan Norse beliefs, respectively. Then I went to taiyou_to_tsuki's place and we re-watched The Time Monster which I really needed on such a day. Even if I almost choked laughing at the last scene. Brig's face especially.

misc thoughts about The Time Monster )

And I was going to talk about maybe getting an etzy account? Even started registering but got stuck on the name... I'd like something cute but also professional enough that I could say it in mixed company? :/ And then I'd need to decide on realistic prices and whether I should get a paypal account (s-scary) and how to present things... I'd probably start with the crochet mascots.

some... actually lots of pictures )

Slept late, for once had no stressful dreams and woke up feeling nice. And one of the books I was worried about arrived today so I just need to get up early tomorrow and I'll have time to read at least part of tomorrow's text for the class discussion.

Was lured outside today by my landlady with cinnamon roll and juice, and it was actually warm enough to sit out, to my surprise. Worked on latest hat, which is purple and fluffy with a raised pattern ( based on this pattern ) Might be called cable columns in English?

I've thinking about what to do with these rolls (or half, if I don't decide to take apart what I've done with them so far) of giant acrylic yarn that I'm not sure I want to make anything wearable out of due to them having a sort of chemical smell. I mean, maybe washing will help, but egh. So I'm thinking a pillow or a plush animal of some sort? Sea monster, they have that sort if colours.

What do you say, should I make a snake/lizard type monster or a giant octopus? :9

Meanwhile, it amuses me that one side of the tiny lawn beneath the veranda still has a snowdrift and on the other there are first flowers...

Visited M. today to have Easter Dinner with her and her family, took some pictures of the dolls I made earlier (v. dorky ones too...) and then we watched the aforementioned serial and many UNIT bbies feels were had. But it was 1)Not as heartbreaking as I feared (or it helped that I could cling to M. when the feels hit me 2)Better overall than I expected too. I mean, the dinosaurs were a bit clunky but it made them a bit cute actually. And the beginning was actually nicely suspenseful, and then there was one scene that was very The Birds-esque.
not that long or spoilery but I'll cut anyway )

And then some pictures of my Three and Delgado!Master dolls
Starting with some process pics )

Silly picture story )

I never did get around to doing much exam note making on sunday, but on monday I was invited to eat left over party food and watch Doctor Who at a friend's place so I was suddenly super motivated to do as much as possible so I could go there. And I did get almost as much done as I'd planned.

We watched Attack of the Cybermen which was ok (eeh Sixie ♥), and Battlefield which I loved even more the second time. Previously I missed Ancelyn actually proposing...! Bbies. :'D Also almost cried at a certain scene with the Doctor and Morgana at the end. Because it was just so poignant.

cut because mildly freaking out about some stuff )

To counter all that, hopefully I'll again have some time to be crafty, and since I think I promised ages ago to post some craft photos and never did...

mostly hats and rolls of yarn )

Even now I'll soon have to run off to... look at more yarns before uni starts.
Making Doctor Who amigurumi's/crotcheted dolls, Three among others and while I DO have colours I could use for his clothes, I don't have any of the exact best ones. So I'm going to make one more round of shops and think about it... (I actually just want to buy all the mercerized cottons. Lustreeee)

Meanwhile, note to self: As good and life giving elixir as strawberry tea might be, it is not actually good for breathing in. Even if my nose now feels quite fresh.
