Yay, card people :D

Mostly original characters, but...let's say there's a surprise. ;P
You see, I drew one of the characters, and then thought "No wait, he looks awfully famil...uups." And then...he seemed kinda lonely. >_>;
So, do you see anyone familiar? :P
(Further) Notes: Sudden drawing mania hit during lessons, this is the result:
They're playing card people in a cutesy chibi-ish form, who're stepping back a bit to meet and greet.
I think I was inspired by something on
tubbsen's art page (Purastik, it's full of awesome art ¤_¤ ♥). She'd drawn a Knave of Hearts...of which my King of Hearts might be a slightly less memorable relative, I fear. Forgive me? *bows*
Couldn't help writing bits of conversations as well :3
Oh, right, with Hearts I chose the obvious connection, with Spades the military/danger angle, with Diamonds...well, money, and Clubs represent farming. Thanks Wikipedia :D
Title: Mingling

"So wouldn't you say there is future in squirrels?" The Queen of Hearts asked hopefully
"Hmph." King of Spades answered noncommittally.
He wasn't used to people who kept talking to him even after he started frowning. Hadn't this woman heard anything about him? Clearly she had no instinct of self-preservation.
And her skirt looked like a beetroot.

"Madam Spade, I don't think you're exactly a nice person."
"Oh no, I can be very nice indeed, believe me." Queen of Spades said to the the Knave of Diamonds.

"Harassing the peasant's again miss Spade?"
"Non of yer business. And he started it anyways." Knave of Spades snapped.
"Did you mr. Club?"
"Uhm...yes. Challenged her..."
"Well, stop it, both of you. Love and peace, eh?
"Drop dead."
"Shh, Millie, he's a king!
"He's a wacko."
"So, your king...or whatever he is." Miss Spade said a moment later.
"Yes? Ah, right, he's getting married soon. They're very much in love. As you can see, eheh."
"...wish I couldn't."

"Have I ever told you about my younger sister, the one who married into the Hearts?
"Yes, mother."
The King of Diamonds sighed, as his mother the widow queen dragged him forward.
"Look, mother, I wanted to ask King of Spades something..."
"This is no time to be making business deals, darling. You need to spend more time with people your own age, and Leyla's son is a lovely young man. Ah, there he is."
"Now Pip, stay there...oh, hello."
"Knave of Hearts, King of Diamonds, my son. And I'll leave you boys alone now, play nice." With those parting words the Queen on Diamonds drifted away.
"Sorry about that, mother has these ideas..." King of Diamonds coughed awkwardly, and then straightened his face into a cool look again.
"Nevertheless, very nice to meet you."
"Yes...um, this is Pip, he's my best squirrel!"
"Best?"
"Yes, I breed them you see." Knave of Hearts explained and beamed happily.
"Ah. I see."
The worst of it was, he couldn't help agreeing with his mother.
