Tyyppi. =_=
In Finnish that's a colloquial term for person (officially it means "type")
I tend to use it as a gender neutral term, which seems to confuse most people who consider it to imply a male person. I still refuse to believe it, thought :'9
I also occasionally get reminded of once calling carbonated water "kuplavesi" that is, bubble water. Mind you, I knew the correct words (kivennäisvesi ja vichyvesi), they just felt so awkward to pronounce. :<
Actually can't remember any right now.
Unless one counts "Päänahka vaan kuultaa läpi" which is a bit difficult to translate (something like "you can just see through the skin of the head").
Usually used either when discussing the color of mine or someone else's hair, or occasionally as a sort of general "You're not seeing the obvious here"-thing.
Refers to a comment my father made after I'd just been born, and he and my mom were discussing if my hair was really red or just seemed like it was.
Well, my father happened to be WRONG XD.
Firstly, I got an English writing assignment back on...Monday? and there were only a few mistakes (which were both typos and not structural mistakes).
Oh, and "halo" was marked with a question mark, but when I asked the teacher about it she said she'd thought I was trying to write "hats". :3
Fine, fine, I admit I was flying a bit too high with the style. Good thing that wasn't really judged, I think >3>;
So, small things, right? :D
Secondly, went todrool over book to the library. Got another Sherlock Holmes book, and then went to ransack the costume history section once again.
Local library happens to be deliciously well stocked in that area.
Managed to limit myself to only dragging home two books.
The other one is about Gothic Subculture (blame having to research for THE MEME earlier :9). It has a few pictures that might work well as reference...like this one which has a table with very complicated and sinister laboratory...type of thing perched on it.
