So, today I spent hunting for a birthday present, and then visiting an exhibition at the Ateneum Art Museum
Guess which exhibition I was interested in? :P
Yup, it was the Japanese woodcuts.

They were...really amazing. Such beautiful landscapes, and the tiny perfect details just killed me, especially after I watched a video about how the prints are made.
I was actually nearly in tears at times, because it was almost physically painful to look at them, somehow.
I'm not even sure if it was more because they're so darn pretty, or envy over the skill of the artists and artisans involved or over the pictures themselves, I mean, they are antique and all...*grabby hands* :P

One of my favorites was a picture of a landscape from...Edo, I think? It had the Fuji mountain in the background, and water in the foreground. A boat is just going out of the picture, and one can only see a bit of the elaborate hairstyle and the back of a woman sitting in the boat. A wind is blowing petals (I assumed cherry petals) into the water.
For some reason the picture seemed a bit melancholy to me, thought I was probably reading it in a way too modern and/or western way. >_>;

So, that was fun.

Okay, now I'll go read a bit more of Jingo to my sister. Before you ask, she could very well read it herself, but I just enjoy reading it aloud.
Thought I need to stop finding Vetinari so...cool. ¤_¤ And Nobby so cute, wtf, brain?
Vimes is allowed to be just as much my favorite character as he wishes to be, because he's not a bit evil like the previous.
Aand...my sister can't figure out Carrot either. Confusing guy.

bye~
