What RP can teach one about self :P

It's odd, how most of the characters I've ever played have been so...is there a word for a person being somehow socially teflon coated? Not necessarily unpleasant (thought that's the easiest way to accomplish the effect), but prone to having relationships in which the other person is kept at an arm's length.
I guess that's because I do that myself >_> *shrug* I once saw this dream in which I lived under a glass dome, and in it I told someone "It never rains but it's never REALLY sunny either, you know?" Which I sometimes feel rather sums up the way I live :P
So, the game was set in a cliche soap opera setting (think Brave and the Bold) and happened in a shareholders meeting. It started with the owner of the Garcia Undergarments Design, Lorenzo Garcia announcing that he was about to resign and give the firm to his unborn child. Almost immeaditely afterwards, Lorenzo's secretary revealed she was also pregnant with Lorenzo's child. *gasp*
And then it went on like that. The name of the game was for everyone to make as many chocking revelations as possible, of course. Several relationships were also broken and made during the few hours we played. Everyone was wonderfully sneaky and yet frankly catty with most everyone else as well. :D
Anyway, once again my character was a bit removed from the action, this time because Emmanuelle Kingston was about the only one there with no relation to the Garcia's (by blood or otherwise...no secret relations either) or anyone else present. She was merely obsessed with stealing the firm bit by bit from Lorenzo, it being the competitor of her Undergarments United.
And she also loved plotting. Money was nice but the plotting was more interesting.
But beyond that she didn't really either particularly hate or like anyone, just looked on their messing about with a sort of pitying disdain. Lorenzo happened to be her enemy, but even that was nothing personal. Actually she got to tell as much to Lorenzo himself near the end when most everyone had turned against him and he was trying to talk Kingston into taking his side.
It's a bit worrying how fun it's to play these sort of evil characters >_>;
Unrelatedly, I'm going to the hairdresser's tomorrow. Eek! I'm so bad at explaining what I really want done to my hair >_>;
Right now it's...rather long-ish again, which is nice when I feel like braiding or tying it up into a ponytail, but otherwise, since my hair is pretty thick, it hangs down heavily and boringly while longer than shoulder lenght.
So...I'm thinking of suggesting layers. Even if THOSE have the tendency of disappearing due to the slight curl I have. Hn.
