So, I finally got to read vol.5 (I didn't dare touch it until I knew whether I had to return it or not). I don't know what happened. I feel like I love this series even more now...and how is that possible, I ask?
Maybe it's because I had seen the anime (reload gunlock) and thought this would be the same, only prettier. But of course it's not (I read the story is different, and it truly is). The anime was entertaining enough (there was conflict, and it wasn't that generic stuff with the poor hopeless youkai assassins). But that was all.
So, what's so different with the manga? It's hard to say, since I'm not that smart...Ah, I give up. It's just better.
But some things I just have to squee about. The witty dialoque...yay.
Goku's, whatwouldyoucallit? Crush? on Gato made me giggle at first, and then I was somehow reminded of Nataku...and then I thought, maybe he's a bit similar to Goku himself? I still don't know, but it's...pretty touching.
And all the characters seem so complex I'm often wondering if I really understand what's going on with them at all. Even Hazel, who I've always hated (partly, I suppose, since my first glance at him was through a certain fanfic, which had great impact), makes me wonder what I should think of him...I'll see, I suppose. This was a very exciting (and that word doesn't really do justice to the feeling of almost holding my breath through some parts) volume. Oh, and one more thing, that youkai kid that almost got killed...So like Gojyo's situation as a child(I was so scared he was going to die...), it was almost like Sanzo had been there. That felt weird.
