It was different than the book, but it would be just stupid to complain about that (ecxept, if I may say just one thing. Did they really have to treat Victoria like that? If I recall right, and it's been a while since I read the book, she just didn't love Tristan, and wasn't quite THIS shallow...and Tristan certainly never would have humiliated her like his character did in the movie :(. That just made him look bad, in my opinion...)
But still, overall I liked the movie. The actiony parts maybe suffered a bit from the overuse of tense music, which might be why they didn't quite strike. Except in the final fight, which was exciting.
Hate to be so predictable, but a certain pirate captain was acute fun character.
Almost would have liked if they'd left things as more like subtext (because then I could have thought everyone didn't get it :P)...besides, him and his crew, just...aww. Too cute.
