First of all, I was having a brief look over my school's partner universities for possible exchange student-ry, and so far found two likely looking options.
I'm studying namely media, specifically graphic design and personally most interested in illustration by traditional methods, preferably. I do recognize that I need to acquire more skills in layout making and computers in general, no matter how they annoy me sometimes...anyway, the options I found so far:
1)Southampton Solent University
Solent? Not green I hope... XP
The webpages are all shiny and they seem to have relevant courses and I assume the teaching will be in English which I should be able to understand.
Okay, but.
2) Listaháskóli Íslands / Iceland Academy of Arts
Now, this one...No quarantine of the teaching being in a language I understand, not sure the courses match what our school offers, since this one seems more fine art oriented. Which actually...well, the pics on the webpage remind me of my highschool years at the Helsinki Upper Secondary School of Visual Arts and I LOVED studying there but...it's not what I feel I'm expected to be learning as a graphic designer >_>;
(THEN again, how about as an illustrator, hm?)
Not to mention I've wanted to go to Iceland for a long time...
So it's like I'm trying to deside between a more practical seeming choice (1) and the intriguing adventure (2).
At the end the choice is really just which to put as first option, and no quarantine I'd get to either place. :P
It's been properly snowy since yesterday, today even more so.
Looks kinda nice, really. (please please don't get all slushy! >_<)
Was at school until very late again, but that was because 1)Illustration class, and we got the first glimpse of the actual story we're supposed to illustrate and it seems like I could do it (Children's story with magical elements? Oh yes.)
Still, if anyone on the flist had a story of their own to offer...;)
and 2)Drama club, and this time we had enough people to actually have it, unlike last week (mixup with email, long story). Felt marginally less pathetic than the first time, had fun.
Came home around 8 and cooked some soup, reminded me of how my mom makes it, only mine was...well, not better, but done to my taste? In any case, it turned out very tasty (even if I had to cut mold of the onion *cough*)
*highfive*
I think I might survive spending the weekend here alone, thought I'll miss the family ;_;
*note, call to sister about cosplay plans some time*
