Ok, so we have Arthurian knights with guns and Morgaine honouring WW2 memorials and flirting with Brig. Did I mention Brig is in it? ¤3¤ Ace takes no shit from him (companion tension, oh my).
Morgaine and his son Mordred are pretty interesting villains, with their obsession on honour and how the Doctor essentially talks Morgaine out of exploding a nuclear bomb by explaining what nuclear war would ACTUALLY be like. She was so sad when Arthur turned out to be dead, aww~ Also, unknown future!Doctor played chess with her?Was that all he did? Also I kind of wonder which it was in general. x3
Other cool things: UNIT having international staff. And silver bullets (ALL kinds of bullets).
But enough about the plot, let's talk about ships.
Ace and Shou Yuing. Cutieees~ Fangirling over explosions and being mind controlled into fighting and then not and ubuuu~ They need to get together and start a mining company or something else explosion related. I mean, Ace has les yay with nearly every female character she meets but this was actually something that could work. Also adorable.
Talking about adorable, Brigadier Bambera and Ancelyn was ever cuter, and also canon. One is a tough as nails military leader! The other is a knight from another dimension! They get to know each other/flirt/establish dominance by wrestling! Ah, silly warrior romance ♥
And I love how after she "vanguished" him, Ancelyn's almost seemed more admiring than anything else. And then there is warriorly cuddling the night after. D'aww. (love the scene where the Doctor goes to gather up the weapons from the lawn that were slung away in the passionate match, all "oh teenagers..." xD)
And just when I was thinking it couldn't get better, suddenly Bessie! Bessieeee~ I was worried for her but she was fine all along :'D
So yeah. I liked it. A lot.
