Eurovision

I mean, I also saw The Name of the Doctor but... don't feel like talking about it rn. Maybe later.

However, I did see Eurovision with taiyou_to_tsuki, gluecookie and a bunch of other friends and family... full house all in all.

We did our own voting, though sadly I missed the results (pretty sure The Master Romania won though)

Actively offensive: Malta's Tomorrow (being a "nice guy" stalker: not cute or romantic), and Finland's misogynistic lyrics topped off by a random queer baiting "lesbian" kiss.

Just bad: Belarus (just, no), and Lithuania with Something by Andrius Pojavis, singer with bad posture, no stage presence, bad English and monotonous singing... how did this get all the way to the finals??? Also Cascada from Germany was sad, and Bonnie Tyler's performance actually made me sad since her presence gave me warm nostalgic feels (eighties stuff! Not that I really remember the eighties but yanno) and then I got all disappointed because I expected better. :'3 Also Italy's singer/performance just felt... sort of over-slick/arrogant. It's the Eurovision, you can't be THAT professional. >_>--->

Sort of ok?: Norway's I Feed You My Love (indeed, as someone said, like a modern Bond song). The sort of song where I KNOW the lyrics are meaningless and just meant to sound cool and dramatic but... they work for me? A guilty pleasure. >3>; Same with Denmark's, it's a generic pop song, but sort of catchy? Also guys in pretty uniforms, they found my weakness!

So bad it was funny: Belgia's Roberto Bellarosa with Love Kills. Ehehehe. Singer had a heavy accent, but... in a cute way? The song was ok, and singer looked like a puppy, but the most notable thing were the two background dancers who had this... weird, robotic dance with out of place "sexual" moves that 1)Didn't fit the song and 2)Thanks to their expressionless faces and robotic movements made them look like killer bots. The singer looked a bit scared too so maybe they were. x''D

Moldavia had a woman whose skirt got turned into a volcano but it was otherwise kind of boring performance

My favourites:
Spain's Contigo hasta el final by El Sueno de Morfeo.

It was... not technically amazing, but the best so far, and just... somehow more sympathetic than many others. The singer's dress kind of looks like a daffodil too.

Iceland's Ég Á Líf by Eythor Ingi

Singer looks like Thor, it was my favourite ballad, the lyrics gave me feels (translation) although "I have a life" was kind of... and bad translation? Not that I know Icelandic. :'D

and last and most epic, Romania's It's My Life by Cezar

Basically... hello Master. Fancy seeing you there.

Today I've been looking at old entries that are cute. The fashions! Sixtiies fashions are especially cute, while eighties and nineties are at times... interesting. Kind of tempted to do a post with old eurovision songs too, so... be on your guard. ;3
